About the listing
Dartmoor is a family friendly place on the Glenelg River. The memorial streetscape features ten Atlantic Cedar tree carvings reflecting the experiences and images of local war veterans.
The Avenue of Honour was planted 7 September, 1918. The trees, Atlantic Cedars, commemorated sixty World War One servicemen and nurses from Dartmoor District.
The Avenue was planted as a living memorial and is recognised by the Returned Services League and the community for its continuing commemorative importance.
A plaque naming those commemorated is located outside the Dartmoor Memorial Hall.
